5th class so far!
We have been very busy over the last 3 months working hard in Ms Garvin's class!
At the start of the year we had the All Ireland winners visit us with the cup. They were a great inspiration for the girls who could see years of hard work and dedication can really pay off.
We had our sponsored walk with our buddies. Though we were very tired by the time we returned it was worth it because we just took delivery of our iPads!
We had an amazing time checking out a very special Traveller initiative. We were told of the many traditions of the Traveller community including the homes they used to live it, the language they speak as well as the tools and jobs they used to have when they travelled from place to place. The girls were particularly fascinated to find out during the summer the women used to sleep inside the wagon while the men used to sleep outside underneath!
We had great fun at Halloween when we dressed up in our scariest costumes. A huge effort was made by everyone and we were able to finish the term with a well deserved movie and party.
Over the last few months the girls completed Marathon Kids which was a fantastic achievement. Over the course of 2 months the children ran and equivalent of a marathon. We were really proud of them especially as it was tough in the beginning. We kept the momentum going and finished in Santry, running our last mile together with all the other schools who participated. We were incredibly proud.
We have had a busy few months but this month will be the busiest of all. We have been practicing hard for our Christmas Play which we know you will love to come and see on Tuesday, 12th of Dec. The children have been amazing. We promise singing, acting and hopefully a few laughs on the day. See you then!
