5th classes star in the National Children's Choir!!

30th Mar 2025

Since September, all three of our 5th classes have been working very, very hard on learning 16 songs for a fabulous performance as part of the National Children's Choir.
The songs were in 3 part harmony and in languages such as Latin, Swahili, Spanish, Irish and, of course , English.
What's most impressive is our girls sang all of these songs from memory, without any lyrics or sheet music!!
The songs included religious classics such as "Ave Maria" , traditional Irish songs, such as "Mo Ghiolla Mear " , "The Fields of Athenry" & " Casadh an tSúgáin".
There were also well- known modern songs, such as "Rhythm of Life" , "Dreams" bu the Irish group, the Cranberries" and " Rule the World" by Coldplay.
The girls also learned some songs they had never heard before, such as "Cantamos" in Spanish and "Kusimama" in Swahili.
At the concert in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, there was a huge number of supporters in the audience - family and school staff - and everyone agreed it was a brilliant, fabulous concert!!
We hope that the 5th class girls will always remember this wonderful musical experience.
Here are some photos and videos.....enjoy!
