We have been using our D.E.A.R. ( Drop Everything And Read) time to try different types of books. We also chat in class once a week about the books we're enjoying and why we enjoy them. Some of our favourite books are: anything from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series ; any Dog Man book we can get our hands on! ; any book about cute kittens, puppies or ponies ; joke books; any of the Road Dahl books ; any of the David Walliams books.
We have a lot of the Road Dahl books and a lot of the David Walliams books on CD and we take turns to choose a book to listen to, relax on the beanbag and follow the story in the book. We are turning into experts on the best books for kids!
