We had lots of fun in room 23 taking part in the Science Live! workshop on Tuesday, 15th February. The workshop was broadcast live to classrooms all over Ireland from the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun.
This workshop was all about Acids and Bases. We used red cabbage water to test a variety of household substances (e.g. washing up liquid, lemon juice, baking powder) to see whether there were an Acid or a Base. Acids turned the water pink or purple and Bases turned the water green or blue. We also discovered what happens when you mix an Acid and a Base together!
